When tragedy happens...

Workplace Accident

Sometimes companies hire me to treat employees affected by a workplace accident. In these situations the work is often urgent and condensed. Sometimes more than one employee is being seen. This work is complicated and draining. I charge a higher fee for this work ($200 an hour for all services including telephone contacts).

What needs to happen before I see any of your staff members:

  1. I need to have confirmation from the police, RCMP or VSU (Victim Services Unit) Coordinator that the legal investigation is complete and there are no charges being placed. The VSU coordinator  usually is the one that provides me with an email that it is "OK to proceed with treatment of the affected individuals". If a person has been charged with a legal offense I can not take them on as a client but I can treat any affected coworkers or other staff members.
  2. I need the person who is authorizing the cost of the therapy to send me a written letter or email that the company will be paying for the service and agree to a maximum fee allowed. Know that I will need roughly $1,000 of service allowed per employee. Know that I will complete the work in as few sessions as possible but need to have the above approved in advance before I will take on a case(s).
  3. I prefer to have only one person at the company who is my contact. This person must read and agree to the documents entitled "When someone else pays for your therapy" (see forms page).
  4. Each employee being seen needs to read the "Orientation Package" information and sign the consent for treatment and personal information sheet.
  5. Please see "forms" section of this website for a copy of the "Orientation Package" and "When someone else pays for your therapy".
